The Sioux Indian Nation's Treaty Council, has filed a lawsuit against the Angel Valley Retreat Center where 2 sweat lodge participants died, and where 19 others had to be taken to a hospital where a third participant also died.

I've been having a lot of irritation in my eyes, lately, and I simply thought it was an allergy reaction. But when I read this article, I kinda intuitively recognized the origin of my eye-thing, because I always rinse my eyes with water, all through each day.
So I immediately called my plumber, and got him to replace my shower-heads and all my forcet-filters.....I could barely touch the used items he removed, because they were all slimy as hell, and totally covered with a thick layer of what surely was those disease-containing organisms described in the article!

I felt so happy, after all of this was done, that I rinsed my eyes with a great big smile, and guess what? They're already hurting a whole lot less! Not only that, but my somewhat clouded vision has almost completely cleared itself!

We all know how men are repeatedly told to suck it up and to internalize any pain they might be experiencing. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, I often wish that women would "suck it up" some more, because most of them seem to be forever whining about how someone or something has miserably failed them. Several years ago, I read somewhere that our Indian tribes used to draw the poison out of scorpion-stings, by covering them with the flesh of a prickly-pear cactus leaf, so I carefully (they're full of really long needles!) took one of those leaves apart, cut out the thick green interior gook, wrapped it in foil, and put it in my freezer.

This week, I thanked myself for having done that, because while I was pushing cement into some empty spaces in the wood around my front door, a scorpion attacked one of my fingers. I thought I would freak out with fear, since I had no idea what that sting might cause, but I remained amazingly calm, called my MD to catch him 10 minutes before he'd have left for the entire weekend, wrapped my finger in the foil-covered prickly-pear-gook from my freezer, and drove off.
My MD didn't get excited either. He said that nothing horrific would happen to my brain (I had asked him if I'd get totally weirded out) and that all I needed, was to get a tetanus-shot. Which I got, of course. After which I went back home again and kept that prickly-pear-gook around my finger for the next 6 hours, after which all the burning sensation of the sting had vanished.

A really pleasant thought, is that when winter arrived in a couple of months, this scorpion would for sure have crawled over the half-an-inch that separated it from getting inside my home, from where it might have created a whole lot of totally spookier harm!

And another pleasant thought is that I have now made it through an experience I had kinda secretly worried about during all the years that I've lived in the Southwest and heard all those fabricated scorpion-horror-stories with which some nasty individuals just love to scare innocent newcomers!

UPDATE 1
72 hours after I saw my MD, the sting began to hurt again, so I used a needle and tweezers to open it up and to pull out some white stuff that I assumed to be left-over poison. Then I held a clorox-dipped cotton ball against it for a while, and went online, where I discovered:

1.....Scorpion venom contains the neurotoxin CLOROTOXIN
which appears to effectively destroy brain tumors :-) :-) :-)

2.....I should have saved the offending scorpion
in a closed glass jar so it could be identified

3.....The National Poison Control Call-in-Center's
phone number is: 1-800-222-1222

4.....I should take an antihistamine pill.....so I swallowed
a BENADRYL, slept like a baby, and when I woke up,
all the pain and swelling had left.

UPDATE 2
Every 5 days, or so, my scorpion-bite swells up again, while showing a tiny hill of white poison underneath the skin. So each time, I open it up with a needle, and use my tweezers to pull out that white stuff. It seems that the poison needs to leave my body, and that my body needs to push it out. A perfect and complimentary kind of need, don't you agree? Anyway....I figured I'd share this information, since it seems to be important.

usually referred to as the OAS....which seems to have decided, last week (How? Where?) that it has the power to order Honduras to re-instate its ousted, constitution-breaking, drug-pushing, ex-president.
As a friendly gesture of force, the OAS, with the oh, so willing assistance of the US State Department, then decided to threaten to withhold the millions of US dollars that had previously been guaranteed to keep that tiny and poverty-struck nation from going under.

Who gave them permission
to issue such a threat?
When did they ask
Us,the People
if we agree with
such a profoundly
anti-democratic act
of political blackmail?

Reliable information about the Russian ship loaded with lumber that was said to have been hijacked on the open seas, is mostly non-existent.

What does seem to make perfect sense, is reports that the ship was not loaded with tree trunks, as had been previously stated by Moscow, but with cruise missiles headed for Iran......and that Israel's Mossad had simply diverted the vessel and then initiated a dialogue with some of Russia's government officials, about this shipment being a really bad idea.

That, if true, would be totally cool!

Imitators can't originate.
That's their saving grace.
But it's also everyone else's downfall,

Ever since American Idol was originated, dozens of similar competitions have been started in the US and elsewhere, and it's almost comical, how every one of those imitations follows the exact same protocol of having 3 judges, two of whom are male, and one of whom, is a female.

This summer, getting individuals out of foreign jails and back into their own country, was originated by Bill Clinton, who flew to North Korea and somehow managed to get 2 American reporters out of jail and back into the US.

Then, US Senator Jim Webb simply flew to Burma, secured a rare interview with Suu Kyi, and got Burma's military oppressors to return an imprisoned American named Yettaw to him, and to let him take that guy back to the States.

Yesterday, Scotland released a convicted and jailed terrorist who may or may not have been guilty (no one will ever know) and allowed the Libyan government to pick him up in a Libyan jet (flight #103 - the same number as the exploded Pan-Am #103.....no doubt a private joke for Ghadafi).....and to fly him back to Libya, where he received a hero's welcome.

So now, there remains the problem of 3

who were jailed by Iran for having crossed the Iranian border, and who definitely need saving.....leaving us all to wonder who'll be the hero to accomplish that?
